Light and Shadow


Black and White seems to speak the loudest when discussing the intimate relationship between Light and Shadow in photography however the role color plays in that dialogue should not be under stated simply because it’s voice seems quieter in the conversation or conversely, it is screaming with intent.

Point of Reflection

This seems to be a narration on the very subject of Light and Shadow where you have a very direct light source reflecting off of the water’s surface and illuminating the other otherwise totally dark shadow of the bridge. In this instance Light and Dark are focused around a point of singularity.

I like to explore out of the way locations looking for interesting subjects and compositions which which when built, were not specifically intended for their aesthetic appeal but are usually designed for utility and functionality with aesthetics as an unintended by product.



Ghosts in the Pasture

Shot early morning on a horse farm in Denver North Carolina. I was compelled into the composition by the stretched shadows all leading to an island of trees in the distance.
