
On a day trip along Narraganset Bay in Rhode Island I saw this lobster boat docked with Prudence Island in the back ground and decided to render the sight into a painting.
“Fishing the Colorado” is a recent work painted with gouache medium in my sketch book using a technique similar to watercolor with many thin transparent glazes.
“Allegory” is a watercolor painting from a time in my life I was living off the grid in a motor home in Washington State. There is some of the most beautiful country I have ever experienced there which inspired me to paint this homage to Nature.
This is a Plein-air painting done in Wickford RI on the way to Point Judith RI. These plants are Huge. Some of the leaves are around three feet in diameter and the flowers can get as large as two feet across.
I was planting trees in Oregon and this is a fantasy interpretation of how it felt on a 4:30 AM ride to the job site in the deep woods of the Coastal Range.

I once took a vacation and drove around the province of Nova Scotia Canada. I photographed, drew and painted wherever I saw interest. It was an incredible time as around every corner was another hallmark moment. This was one my stops. I can still hear the shush of the wave forms receding back over the pebble beach and the hiss of the sea foam.
I lived for a time on a farm in Rhode Island and woke up one morning after significant snow fall to see these chickens seemingly enjoying the weather.
This is how ducks and geese deal with the RI winters. They seem somewhat blase.
