The following images are of hand crafted marionette puppets and examples of how they are created.
These images are promotional photographs I took of the main puppet characters I helped design and create for use in a performance piece titled L’Histoire du Soldat written by Igor Stravinsky and C, F. Ramuz and first performed in September of 1918 at the end of the first world war.
The puppet body parts are carved by hand from blocks of Bass wood and pine while the heads are first carved in hard Brazilian Beeswax then cast in Bondo and painted.
