(This Page is currently undergoing Construction with more to come)
These images are promotional photographs taken of the main puppet characters designed and produced by Butterworth Marionettes for use in a performance piece titled L’Histoire du Soldat (The Soldiers Tale) with a musical score written by Igor Stravinsky and the Libretto by C, F. Ramuz and originally performed in September of 1918 at the end of the first world war.
The puppet body parts are carved by hand from blocks of Bass wood and pine while the heads are first carved in hard Brazilian Beeswax then cast in Bondo and painted.
